Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of RetroQue, a private-beta analytics tool for YouTube creators that reviews an existing video library and suggests what to revisit, refresh, or test next. RetroQue is operated by its developer (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, connecting a YouTube channel, or otherwise using RetroQue, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use RetroQue.

RetroQue uses YouTube API Services to read channel and video data from YouTube on your behalf.

By connecting a YouTube account or otherwise using RetroQue features that access YouTube data, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.

Your use of YouTube is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy. RetroQue's handling of the information it receives from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

RetroQue is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to YouTube or Google. YouTube and Google are trademarks of Google LLC and are used only to describe the service that RetroQue connects to. RetroQue does not use YouTube or Google branding as part of its own name or logo.

• Only after you authorize it. RetroQue accesses YouTube data only after you sign in with Google and grant permission on Google's consent screen. Nothing is read from YouTube before that step.
• Read-only. RetroQue requests read-only YouTube permissions (the “youtube.readonly” and “yt-analytics.readonly” scopes, plus basic profile information to identify your account). It does not request any permission that would let it change your channel.
• You stay in control. You can revoke RetroQue's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, and you can reconnect, re-authorize, or ask us to delete your data from RetroQue Settings or by email. Revoking access stops RetroQue from retrieving new YouTube data; some features will stop working until you reconnect.
• Your own channels only. You may connect only channels you own or are authorized to manage.

RetroQue does not publish, upload, edit, delete, schedule, comment on, reply to, like, or otherwise modify YouTube content or settings, and it never posts on your behalf. Every change RetroQue suggests is something you decide to make yourself inside YouTube Studio. If we ever add features that require additional YouTube permissions or perform actions on YouTube, we will disclose them separately and ask for your consent through a new Google authorization before they are enabled.

RetroQue provides analytics, diagnostics, planning tools, and recommendations. They are informational and directional only. They are observations about your own channel's data, not statements of cause and effect, and they are not guarantees of views, click-through rate, watch time, revenue, subscribers, or any other outcome. Results depend on many factors outside RetroQue's control, including YouTube's systems and your audience. You are responsible for any change you choose to make to your channel.

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• RetroQue is intended for creators and their teams. It is not directed to children under 13, and you must be old enough to hold a YouTube channel under YouTube's terms to use it.
• During the private beta, access is granted manually and may be limited to a number of channels, syncs, or generated reports per month.

You agree not to:

• Connect a channel you do not own or are not authorized to manage, or access another person's data.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or access restrictions, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission.
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute data obtained through RetroQue, or use RetroQue to build a competing dataset of YouTube data.
• Use RetroQue in a way that violates the YouTube Terms of Service, YouTube Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

You keep ownership of the ideas, notes, drafts, experiment records, uploaded reports, and other material you submit to RetroQue. You grant us permission to store and process that material only to provide, secure, support, and improve the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not publish your content or your YouTube data.

RetroQue is under active development and offered as a private beta. Features may change, break, be rate-limited, or be removed at any time, with or without notice. Some data (for example impressions and click-through rate) depends on YouTube API availability and may arrive late or be unavailable; when that happens RetroQue tells you what is missing rather than estimating it.

How RetroQue collects, uses, stores, and shares information — including the YouTube data it receives through YouTube API Services — is described in our Privacy Policy. To show trends and experiment results over time, RetroQue keeps synced YouTube data for as long as your channel stays connected and refreshes it each time you sync. By connecting a channel you consent to this storage. You can request deletion at any time.

RetroQue is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any data, analysis, or recommendation will be accurate, complete, or current.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RetroQue and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of views, revenue, subscribers, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service, or from decisions you make based on what RetroQue shows you. Our total liability for any claim relating to RetroQue is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free private beta, is zero).

You can stop using RetroQue at any time and ask us to delete your account and data. We may suspend or end access to RetroQue if these Terms are violated, if required by law or by YouTube or Google policy, or when the beta ends. Sections 3, 6, 12, and 13 survive termination.

We may update these Terms as RetroQue evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version. Material changes will be signposted inside the product or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use RetroQue after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
